A Winter Break in Germany?

Every year thousands of people plan winter breaks to escape the pre/post-Christmas mayhem, and it seems that Germany is the place to be this year.

In October Germany celebrated its 22 anniversary of German Unity, and it was also Berlin’s 775th birthday! What better time to take in the fascinating history, architecture and culture of Germany.

If you’re not a fan of history, you are probably a fan of chocolate (most are). At the beginning of December the seventh annual Chocolart festival takes place in Tübingen where over 100 chocolatiers will wow you with their offerings, you can also learn how to make praline, paint with cocoa and have a chocolate massage course!

If you’re a fan of active holidays, Germany is a magnificent place for winter sports. You could learn to ski and snowboard, or really challenge yourself off piste. Whether you’re travelling with a group of friends for fun and adventure, with your significant other for a romantic trip or with the family to teach the kids to ski – Germany will have something to offer.

However, to truly enter the Christmas spirit, the annual Frankfurt Christmas Market is not to be missed. If you really want to indulge your festive spirit then this is the place to be, beautiful stalls offer crafted gifts and great food, plus the choirs and decorations won’t fail to impress. You can stock up on stunning gifts and find true Christmas joy all at the same time – on holiday!
