Now recent research by the Civil Aviation Authority has found that British holidaymakers are facing longer and more frequent delays at the airport. The research studied ten airports, and found that the average delay from 2011 of one minute had increased to twelve minutes! Furthermore, less than 80% of scheduled flights actually left on time.
Britain’s top airports, including Heathrow, Stansted, London City and Gatwick all reported worse delays than in 2011. In fact the only airport to improve flight times was Luton, but only by 1%.
This news is extremely annoying, if you have paid money for a flight – no matter how good the deal was, you expect that the service will ‘do what it says on the tin’, namely, to get you to your chosen destination, and to do it around the times specified.
