Are British Travellers Lazy?

We all have different definitions of the perfect holiday, but the majority would probably say that a summer break is a time to relax and unwind with the people closest to us. However, according to a recent survey by Expedia we Brits are taking relaxation to a whole other level, as the results show that we are the third laziest nation in the world when on holiday.

Water and Shade on Beach

According to the research, which surveyed over 10,000 over 18s around the globe, over 90% of Brits just want to spend their summer breaks relaxing in a quiet destination, with less than 20% even thinking about partying during the trip. This lethargy even stretched as far as taking a refreshing dip, with less than 1/5 bothering with swimming or surfing during their holidays, let alone any other water sports.
Only two other countries in the world beat these relaxed statistics – Thailand and Japan, whereas more energetic travellers were found to come from places like India, Mexico and Malaysia.
Although holidays offer the perfect chance to relax and unwind, there is always the danger that you might miss out if you spend your entire break sun worshiping by the pool. On your next trip, why not try to book at least one day trip or activity to ensure you get the relaxation you deserve, but also experience something new?
Just remember to invest in quality insurance before your trip, as even the laziest traveller can still find themselves faced with a holiday disaster. Visit Holidaysafe.co.uk for more information.
