Bargain Ski Resorts

Every year the Post Office sets out to find the most purse friendly ski destinations in the world, by looking at common costs such as equipment hire, lift passes, school fees, meals and drinks. They are then able to get a clear picture of the true holiday costs for travellers.

This year the research has been linked to surveys by Crystal Ski Holidays, who aim to advise customers on the best value resorts in the world, to help them choose the perfect destination to suit their budget.
The research found that in-resort prices have dropped since the 2013/2014 season in 24 out of the 27 resorts surveyed. There are several different theories for these price drops, including the increasing strength of the Pound against the Euro, and resorts attempting to attract UK customers after the slight dip in the market last year.
According to the research, skiing remains cheapest in Bulgaria and Slovenia, with many other destinations also highlighted as good value for money. For example;
• Bansko, Bulgaria

• Kranjska Gora, Slovenia

• Ellmau, Austria

• Livigno, Italy

• Soldeu, Andorra

• Ruka, Finland

• Sestriere, Italy

• Morzine, France

• Tremblant, Canada

• Selva di Val Gardena, Italy
If you’re planning a last minute or budget ski trip, Andorra should definitely be on your list. The destination offers the most respected ski schools in Europe, plus duty free status – not to mention that prices have dropped nearly a quarter since last season!
If you’re planning a trip further afield, Tremblant in Canada was the only resort outside of Europe to make the best value list. This Canadian resort offers great savings against the more popular Banff, Vail, and Whistler resorts.
