Last Minute Holidays
According to recent research by TNS, as many as 1/3 UK adults will leave planning their summer holiday until the last minute this summer. The survey, which questioned 2,000 Brits, found that 15% were planning to book their trip a month in advance, and 17% will wait until a few days before they want to depart.
The results of this questionnaire show a big change in attitude towards holiday bookings since 2012, as the Civil Aviation Authority only reported 10% of departures for July booked late, and a mere 8% for August that year.
Last minute bookings apparently prove most popular with younger travellers aged 16 to 24 who are holding out for last minute bargains. Families however were least likely to book last minute trips abroad, instead opting to book their trips a few months in advance.
