Over £5 Billion of Annual Leave Wasted Each Year

According to recent research, over 60 million leave days are lost by UK workers every year because they fail to take their entire annual entitlement before the deadline. These wasted days are apparent worth over £5 Billion!

Office life

Many companies run their employee’s holiday entitlement from January to December every year, which means many stressed out Brits are already being warned to use or lose their remaining days before the start of 2015.
Unfortunately, last minute trips during the winter months can be extremely expensive if not booked in advance, which means that many Brits will forgo their remaining holiday leave in favour of a cheaper Christmas at home and work.
It may be a bit early to start considering New Year’s Resolutions, but with the launch of the John Lewis and Coke a Cola adverts, many people are already thinking about 2015, therefore, if you’re a serial workaholic who has already written off their remaining annual leave for 2014, why not resolve to take every single day next year?
You could take a once in a lifetime Longstay adventure to all of the places you’ve been daydreaming about at your desk, or you could take lots of mini breaks with friends and family to fantastic destinations and tick some things off your bucket list.
By working all the time and forgoing your holiday time, you may think that you’re a great worker – however, studies have proven that overworked employees lose their resourcefulness and creativity. Therefore, a dream break, or a couple of dream breaks next year may in fact make you a better employee! And after all, you are entitled to it.
