Piranha Attack!

The Daily Mail recently reported a relatively unexpected and extreme travel issue – Piranha attack! The incident occurred on a popular river beach in Brazil named Daveron Beach. Although the area is well known for its wildlife and ecotourism, it is the first time that the flesh eating fish have come so close to the bank.

One local man reported that while wading in the river, he felt a sharp pain in his foot, and realised he had been attacked by a Piranha, and lost the tip of his toe in the process! He ran from the water to avoid his blood attracting more of the predators.

The beach is now deserted, as the local population and holiday makers fear for their safety in the infested waters. However, authorities maintain that the beach will remain open to the public, despite the swarm of razor sharp toothed visitors two weeks ago; they have however put up warning signs.

Although this is an extreme case of holiday disaster, it just goes to show that anything can happen, and, as luck would have it, it will probably happen on your holiday.
