Futuristic Cruise Ships ready by 2017
MSC, the largest privately owned cruise company in the world, have announced the creation of five new futuristic mega ships, two of which will be ready to sail by the end of 2017.
To ensure these ships include cutting edge technology for the modern traveller, MSC have teamed up with Samsung, to equip the ‘smart ships’ with high definitions cabin TVs, smartphones and tablet computers. The ships will also include advanced first aid equipment in case of medical emergencies, all of which is aimed at enhancing the traveller’s on board experience.
MSC Meraviglia, the company’s largest creation to date, will be launched in June 2016 and is large enough to comfortably accommodate 4,500 passengers. The ship will sail the Western Mediterranean, including trips to Barcelona and Marseille.
The MSC Seaside will then be launched in December 2016, from its base in Miami. This ship will also include state of the art technology, including one of the biggest on-board waterparks and ‘slide boarding’ technology. Furthermore, the ship will also include LEGO and DUPLO play areas for younger passengers.
Three further ships are expected to launch in 2019, 2020 and 2022, which will follow in the footsteps of their sister ships by bringing a ‘new generation’ of cruise ships, customer experiences and on-board technology to the cruise market.
