With so many destinations to visit around the world, it is easy to forget the abundance of choices the UK has to offer for staycations. However, Scotland has now come second in Rough Guide’s 2017 must visit destinations list, beaten only by India which came in first place.
According to a recent study conducted by TravelZoo, Brits are putting safety first when booking their 2016 summer holiday, and opting for staycations amid international threats from terrorism.

The annual awards crowned Woolacombe Beach in Devon as Britain’s best beach, for the second year in a row, and shortlisted a further 24 runners up.

According to the UNWTO World Tourism stats, international tourism reached 1,138 million in 2014, nearly 5% up on 2013.
