The Inbetweeners are back! The Boys take on a Gap Year

After a hugely successful four television series, as well as a hit first movie, the Inbetweeners look set to return to our screens in the Inbetweeners 2, where the boys embark on a gap year to Australia instead of hitting the popular youth resort of Malia in Crete.

In the recently released trailer, we see the boys take their usual pranks to the Australian outback (it seems not even the natives are safe).Inbetweeners star Simon Bird, who plays cast favourite Will, revealed that filming the new second movie had seemed more like a holiday than working because the cast, which also includes James Buckley (Jay), Blake Harrison (Neil) and Joe Thomas (Simon), are such good mates.

The trailer shows scenes of the boys enjoying a road trip, driving through Uluru and encountering natives, kayaking, zip-wiring, bundling their way through a nightclub in backpacks and of course, chasing after girls – none of which goes swimmingly well, in true Inbetweeners style.

The last film, which followed the boys and their (mis)adventures on their first lad’s holiday abroad was released three years ago in 2011, and the cast have moved on a lot in their own lives since then. James Buckley, who plays a boozy hormonal teenager has said that he is no longer able to handle even a few beers at the pub with his mates, adding “At 19, I used to drink pint after pint and be fine the next day, but recently I had a few pints on a pub crawl and it did me in for days. People think I’m this mental hormonal teenager, but in reality I’m a dad-of-two who is actually pretty boring.”
