William Shatner Embarking on Three-Wheeled Adventure

Actor and TV personality William Shatner recently embarked on a new adventure, when he completed an eight day cross country charity journey ‘into the unknown’ on a custom trike.

The 84 year old teamed up with American Wrench to create the three wheeled custom trike, which was apparently inspired by a B-17 Bomber. The eight day trip, which started on 23rd June, covered over 2,000 miles and was intended to raise awareness for the American Legion.

The American Legion is the nation’s largest veteran’s service, and aims to provide support to veterans, service men and women, and communities. They are a not-for-profit organisation, and rely heavily on active volunteerism and fund raising.

American Wrench and the American Legion accompanied Shatner on his journey.

If you’re planning a motorcycle adventure, make sure you invest in specialist travel insurance before you depart. Many travellers assume their travel insurance will cover them when riding a motorcycle abroad, but many will exclude cover altogether, or limit cover to 125cc engines.

If you’re planning a specialist trip you need to ensure you have cover to match, which will help if your bike breaks down, if your pannier or tank bags are lost or stolen, and if you are forced to return home without your bike.
