And the Winner of our 2016 Family Travel Survey Competition is…
Earlier this month we launched a family travel survey, with the aim of discovering how changing travel rules and regulations may have affected the way families travel together. The survey was a great success, with over 270 responses to our questions concerning travel trends and destinations.
Interestingly, nearly 65% of parents look for sun and relaxation when it comes to their annual family holiday, compared to just 28% who aim to include culture and history into their trip. A further 52% also said they make travel experiences and ‘making memories’ a key part of their family holiday, and 32% fit in time for adventures and activities during their family trips.
Following recent world events, we were also interested in researching how family travel habits had been affected by travel news. An over whelming 82% said that recent world events would affect their likelihood to travel to popular family destinations such as Turkey and Tunisia.
Furthermore, our research also found that families seem to be quite evenly split between creatures of habit and explorers, with 46% planning to visit a destination they have already been to in 2016, compared to 43% who are planning a trip to a new destination this year. (11% had no trips planned for 2016)
As a thank you to everyone who completed the survey, we launched a prize draw to award one lucky participant a £100 John Lewis voucher. I am very happy to announce that our winner is…
Ms Wakefield from Surrey
When we contacted Ms Wakefield to inform her of her win, she commented “Wow! Thank you, so happy! I used your company as advised by Martin Lewis’ money site, a lot of other insurance companies wouldn’t insure my partner as he had a heart attack two years previous, but Holidaysafe did and offered a respectable price. Thanks again!”
