Ice Festival, Harbin
From the 24th December 2017 up until 25th February 2018, Harbin, China transforms into the world’s biggest ice festival.
From winter swimming and dog sledding to Siberian Tiger watching, there is so much to see and do.
The Harbin Ice Lantern Show is one definitely not to be missed. Lanterns were originally used to light up the sky for the fishermen out in the Songhua River, but are now used as a form of art, using electricity to create colour through the ice, and the first show was held back in 1963.
Ever since it has been attracting a huge number of visitors, the show ranges from recreations of iconic buildings, to animals, famous figures and ancient legends.
This doesn’t start until 5th January but it does run for another two months.
