Important Information for Holidaysafe Customers Travelling to Tunisia
On the 26th June 2015 terrorists stormed Sousse beach in Tunisia, and began shooting innocent people. Everyone at Holidaysafe was extremely shocked by the attack, and our sincerest wishes go out to all of the people and families involved in this terrible incident.
To help anyone either in Tunisia, or anyone who has booked a trip to Tunisia, we have put together the information below.
If you are in Tunisia now
Keep in touch with your tour operator and follow any advice from Tunisian security authorities.
If you are a British national currently in Tunisia and wish to inform the FCO of your whereabouts, or you are concerned about friends or family, you should contact them by:

- Completing a form online
- Texting Tunisia to +447860010026. You’ll then receive a reply, please respond with your details. (Text messages should be restricted to 160 characters.)
If you have sought medical attention, please contact our emergency team – Emergency Assistance Facilities, on +44 1732 853 333 as soon as you can, so we can liaise directly with your doctors and family.
We completely understand that this event may have left you wanting to return home early, in this instance you should contact your Travel Agent or Tour Operator to see if they can assist you. Travel insurance policies do have very specific terms and conditions, especially with regards to terrorism. However we have spoken to our insurers, who are very sympathetic to this situation, and they have promised to ensure that all claims are considered as compassionately as possible and based on the individual circumstances involved.
If you have booked a trip to Tunisia before 31st October 2015
We appreciate that following the recent events you may not wish to travel now, and so you should liaise directly with your Tour Operator or Travel Agent to arrange either cancellation or a change in travel dates. Please note, Holidaysafe will be more than happy to change the dates on your policy (with no administration fee), if this is the option you decide to take.
Most travel insurance policies will not provide cover for cancellation due to terrorist activity, as this should be covered by your Tour Operator or Travel Agent. Unfortunately this means Holidaysafe will not be able to cover cancellations due to this event, unless you have purchased our Premier Platinum policy, and the FCO deemed Tunisia unsafe for tourists after you booked.
