Important Information for Holidaysafe Customers Travelling to New Zealand

Keep in touch with your tour operator and follow any advice from local authorities.
If you have sought medical attention, please contact our emergency team, Emergency Assistance Facilities, on +44 (0) 203 829 6745 as soon as you can, so we can liaise directly with your doctors and family.
We completely understand that this event may have left you wanting to return home early. In this instance you should contact your Travel Agent or Tour Operator to see if they can assist you. In the event that they are unable to help, please contact our claims team, Travel Claims Facilities, directly on +44 (0) 203 829 6761 to discuss how we can help. If you are travelling independently, you should make your own arrangements to leave by either altering your return tickets where possible or booking into an alternative form of transport.
Travel insurance policies do have very specific terms and conditions, especially with regards to natural disasters such as fire, flood or earthquake. However we have spoken to our insurers, who are very sympathetic to this situation, and they have promised to ensure that all claims are considered as compassionately as possible and based on the individual circumstances involved.
Additional Travel and Accommodation Costs
Should your travel and accommodation arrangements have been affected by the earthquake your policy may cover reasonable additional costs within a certain radius to provide you with alternative options. To find out more please email the claims team on firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you have booked a trip to New Zealand
We appreciate that following the recent events you may not wish to travel now, so you should liaise directly with your Tour Operator or Travel Agent to arrange either cancellation or a change in travel dates. Please note, Holidaysafe will be more than happy to change the dates on your policy (with no administration fee), if this is the option you decide to take.
In the event that you are unable to move the trip to an alternative destination, and are offered a refund from your travel agent or tour operator, we are happy to offer a full refund of premium on the understanding that no claim is to be made against the policy.
Most travel insurance policies will not provide cover for cancellation due to natural disasters such as fire, flood or earthquake, as this should be covered by your Tour Operator or Travel Agent. Unfortunately this means Holidaysafe will not be able to cover cancellations due to this event.
