FAQs

Do you need winter sports insurance to go skiing or snowboarding?

There’s no requirements to have insurance, but it’s highly recommended. You can find specific policies which cover you for both your equipment and medical costs.

Will I get cold on the slopes?

Yes and no. You will find yourself quite cold before you begin skiing, but will quickly warm up (if you’re wearing the right clothing) when you start moving. It might not seem plausible in an environment with so much snow, but you’ll actually work up a sweat and maybe even a sun tan!

When is the best time to go skiing?

This will vary depending on where you are in the world. It’s generally agreed the best time for skiing in Europe is from the latter part of November to the middle of April.

Which slope should I do first?

We’ve already covered the varying level of difficulty when it comes to the routes you can take, with blue often the colour used to define the easiest path. That said, a lot of resorts will also have a nursery slope. These can be used by newcomers to test out the skills they’ve learnt in their lessons.
