“Hello, We would simply like to say thank you for sorting out our claim and making a full refund (less excess) in such a timely fashion. We were concerned about the claim because we were not able to get our flight refund for several months before being able to claim the remainder from insurance. Having submitted all the paperwork the claim was dealt with in about 2 weeks and payment made a few days afterwards. Thank you – this is how insurance should work.”

“I am writing to say how wonderful you have been to my father. He was diagnosed with 3 aneurysms last week, so I phoned immediately to see if he could still go on our trip. We were planning to visit my dads sister in Florida as they are both of an age that time was getting short for them to reunite. “I received my renewal notice from Holidaysafe travel insurance in April and as usual was asked to contact the company by phone to update on any changes to my health and/or tablets. I was dreading the annual 30 minutes of interrogation but made myself a cup of tea, steeled myself and made the call.
What a pleasant surprise when Tom answered the phone. He was professional, efficient and patient with me which at my age (78) is so important. An even bigger surprise was the price which was even lower than last year.

I did every thing on line but right at the end got turned down on a medical question for my wife. Following a phone call I had answered the question incorrectly but was adjusted by talking it through with a few more questions.
Quote was significantly cheaper than through my bank and one or two others but matched the cover offered by them and with similar excesses.
Hope I won’t have to use it but hope the service matches the quote!”

In fact, the additional premium for this was actually lower this year with a reduced excess. Unheard of in this age of premiums jumping ahead with no regard to customer loyalty. If only Holidaysafe could insure my house and car……..”

Pre-existing medical conditions were declared on the health questionnaire, which were accepted and covered. “What a breath of fresh air it is to do business with Holidaysafe. Not only are they far and away the most competitively priced but the customer advisors are amongst the best I have had to deal with. “I also wanted to say that I have had an extremely good service during the past year. I went to Fuerteventura in March and I was ill. I had breathing difficulties (acute bronchitis) and need to get quickly to a private medical centre (5 mins from my hotel) rather than a 40 minute cab drive to the hospital where I could have used my EHIC. I didn’t get prior approval for the private treatment and realised when I got home that, technically, I needed to have done this in order to submit a claim for medical expenses. Nevertheless, I put in a claim, providing reasons why I didn’t get prior approval and was pleased to discover that my claim had been honoured and a cheque was sent to me. In my opinion, I was treated very well, and feel confident to renew. Many thanks!”

The next day I telephoned Holidaysafe who found my half-finished booking and we managed to correct and complete it over the phone. “I contacted Holidaysafe after reading an article in the Which consumer magazine, September 2014, which gave its policies the highest rating for all age categories 18 – 79 year old and also for Family cover.
I had a problem with the medical declaration section of the on line quote and so left my telephone number for them to contact to me. I was contacted by a very helpful and patient lady, who did not rush me to explain my minor ailments and took time and care to ensure my medication was correctly listed.
The quote I received for an annual policy Worldwide including USA and Canada, (31 days per trip) was £73 lower than another Insurance company, who agreed I was receiving comparable cover, to their higher quote, when they phoned me back to ask if I was taking up their policy.

I am a big fan of Martin Lewis and felt if he was promoting Holidaysafe then you will be a high quality company offering adequate cover, at competitive prices. This I found to be so; very easy to get a quote on line, with clear choices of cover, easy to compare different levels of cover and really good prices.
Even with the extra premium for a declared medical condition, the quote for both of us was less than the holiday company was offering to cover one person and that was without adding on the extra premium for a medical condition!
