Our policy has a higher cancellation sum insured and our Hospital benefit has been amended to include cabin confinement cover. This means that should you fall ill on the ship and the ships doctor confines you to your room to recover, you would receive the same benefit as if you were admitted to a state hospital.

As well as covering your emergency medical expenses on board the cruise ship, the policy also extends to cover ship to shore repatriation as well as medical treatment on board and in resort and repatriation home.

    When does cover start on a Cruise holiday policy?
    As soon as you purchase one of our policies, the Cancellation section starts. All other covers begin from the moment you leave your home for your holiday until you return home again..

    What is a pre-existing medical condition?
    Any medical condition, serious or recurring, which has previously been diagnosed, investigated or treated in anyway, at any time prior to travel, even if this condition is currently considered to be stable and under control by the use of drugs.

    What is the excess on the policy?
    An excess is the amount you have to pay towards any claim under the policy cover. Under our Cruisesafe travel Insurance policy the excess begins at £75. If you are over 70 years old the excess is increased to £125 on most sections.

    The excess is applied to each claim under the same incident date and for each person making the claim.

    How do I find out which countries are not covered?
    We use the guidelines set out by the FCO. To find out if there are any existing restrictions on the country you are visiting, please click here.

    Please note that if the FCO have travel restrictions in place and travel to a country is advised against, there will be NO COVER under your policy.

    Do the sums inured benefit the whole group or each person?
    The Underwriters will pay up to the sum insured listed for each insured person

    How do I get medical assistance when I am away?

    I do not live in the UK, can I purchase one of your policies?
    Our policies are available to anyone who has had their main home in the United Kingdom or the Channel Islands and has not spent more than six months abroad in the year before buying this policy.

    I am travelling today, can I still buy a policy?
    Yes, our friendly Customer Services staff can email a copy of your schedule and policy to you. So as long as you have email and a printer available to you, this should not be a problem.
