DUGs Day
Are you looking for last-minute gifts for Dugs Day? (That’s Dads, Uncles and Grandfathers!), and obviously including and not forgetting the special people in your life who may not be your father, but equally, deserve thanks this Father’s Day.
Well, we’ve pulled together a gift idea list that is wallet-friendly, thoughtful and will certainly put a smile on their face.
- Create a photo collage of all of your special moments together – holidays, birthdays, random weekends together.
- Chore take-over – why not agree to mow the lawn or take the bins out for the week ahead?
- Write them a poem
- Handprint art, pick up some child-friendly paint and just have fun with it. Frame your creation and voila!
- What about breakfast in bed?
- A bunch of flowers or a box of choccies to say thank you – sometimes we understand that others may be playing the father’s part too. Show them how much you appreciate them by just saying thank you!
- Spend some quality time together, take a picnic to your local park or beach, or cook something at home for the whole family to enjoy.
If you are fortunate enough to have a bigger budget to treat your one and only DUG, why not check out some of these ideas for the ultimate retreat, as a UK stay-cay or day out!
If he’s a Fisherman: Scotland. Why not try fly fishing in the Highlands?
An Adventurer: Perhaps hiking in Italy may be on the cards.
Keen Golfer: Check out Spain or Portugal – Quinta do Lago and Buenavista are top of the list for some of our dads in the office.
A Shop ‘til they dropper: Shopping in Nevada, Las Vegas, perfect opportunity to also hit the casino and live that James Bond fantasy!
For the Football Fanatic – What about a Barcelona City Break? If he’s not a fan of the beach or architecture, then the FC Barcelona stadium is well worth the journey.
Perhaps he’s more of a historical kind of guy, in which case, check out some historical hot spots of interest closer to home:
- Highclere Castle, which features as the main building in Downton Abbey
- Leeds Castle – ancient castle in Kent which usually has segways and other activities to partake in
- Hampton Court
- Bath, Somerset – yes, we listed the entire place, because it’s steeped in history!
