Well, firstly it is nestled between Croatia and Italy, and the scenery lives up to the standard set by its beautiful neighbours. Secondly, after being named the European Region of Gastronomy for 2021, it is the perfect place for foodie lovers to visit. Need we say more?
In recent years the Finnish Government has heavily invested in arts and culture, making Helsinki the perfect place for your next city break. Make sure you check out Amos Rex, the newest art museum, plus the Finnish National Gallery. There are also a number of outdoor events and pop up museums planned during the warmer months.
If you really want to shake off the lockdown shackles, then a Caribbean paradise will offer you the perfect change of scenery. There are a whole host of eco-friendly options, which will allow you access to miles of glorious beaches, wellness retreats, beautiful lagoons and humpback whale-watching (that’s got to be worth at least a few ticks on the travel bucket list, right?).
If there’s one positive we can take from the UK closing its borders, it’s that it made us realise just how many amazing places are on offer right on our doorstep for the perfect staycation.
